  • 1.    delivery address
    1.1
    Auto cariers cannot always reach residential addresses due to low trees, narrow entries or dead-ends.
    1.2
    Collections/deliveries by auto carrier will be therefore at the nearest convenient location where it can park for for loading/off-loading.



    2.    schedules
    2.1
    Target dates provided on quotes are based on best estimate at the time of quoting. More accurate dates sahll be provided by our control staff closer to the time.


    2.2
    Final collection and delivery times can only be committed on the day of collection / delivery respectively.
    2.3
    Kindly allow 2-3 working days contingency on commited dates for all long distance deliveries.
    2.4
    Standing time as a result of customer delays at either collection/delivery address may be charged at R500 + VAT per 1/2-hour .


    3.    insurance
    3.1
    If your vehicle is less than 10 years old, and less than R750,000 in value, our rates will usually include Goods-in-Transit (GIT) cover.
    3.2
    GIT cover can be provided at 1.5% of the vehicle’s value, for a vehicle older than 10 years, but less than 20 years, provided it is comprehensively insured by its owner.


    3.3
    For private vehicles GIT cover only applies if vehicles are comprehensively insured by owners. GIT covers loss of load due to fire, hijacking, collision, overturning.


    3.4
    In the event of an insurance claim, the customer shall be liable for the excess payment as per attached insurance clarification document.
    3.5
    Unless specifically agreed otherwise in writing, the following are excluded from GIT cover: any vehicle older than 10 years, non-running vehicles, accident damaged vehicles, non-standard vehicles, built-up or kit cars, racing vehicles.


    3.6
    Stone chips, windscreen damages, and any damages directly caused by adverse weather conditions (including wind, rain, hail, snow, lightning), are explicitly excluded from our GIT cover.


    3.7
    The customer shall inspect the vehicle for any damages, both at collection and at delivery, and sign off the inpsection report presented. Any damages observed should be noted on the inspection sheet and reported to our call centre within 12 hours after receipt of the vehicle.


    3.8
    In the event that damages have occurred as a result of actions or negligence by Intercity Auto Movers, we reserve the right to conduct a first-hand inspection and to choose where the vehicle is sent for repair.


    3.9
    Vehicles may not be covered during transport. Please also ensure that the steering wheel, driver seat and controls are accessible.
    3.10
    We do not accept liability for damages caused by forklift handling when loading or off-loading accident damaged vehicles.

    3.12
    The customer ultimately remains responsible for the integrity of his vehicle. Damages to other vehicles as a result of fluid spillages or parts dislodging during transit, may be claimed from the customer. 



    4.    personal items & documents
    4.1
    No personal items may be left in your vehicle whilst in transit.
    4.2
    IAM will NOT transport or accept responsibility for vehicle registration documents (eNATIS / log-books) – these must be sent separately by courier.
    4.3
    IAM is not equipped to transport loose items (engines/gearboxes/body panels). These can be either packed inside the vehicles at the customer’s own risk, or must please be sent separately by courier (thios applies to non-running and “project” vehicles).



    5.    vehicle condition
    5.1
    Vehicles listed as NON-RUNNERS must be on 4 wheels, mobile and accessible by an auto carrier (horse & trailer) for loading.
    5.2
    The customer ultimately remains responsible for the integrity of his vehicle. Damages to other vehicles as a result of fluid spillages or parts getting dislodged during transit, may be claimed from the customer. 


    5.3
    Unless fully declared at the time of order placement, IAM reserves the right to not load a vehicle if it is deemed unsafe to load due to oil, coolant or fuel leaks, or parts/panels not secured properly. 100% Cancellation fees may apply.


    5.4
    No racing fuel may be transported on our trucks – whether in vehicles’fuel tanks or in loose cannisters.
    5.5
    Should it not be possible to load the vehicle due to damage or not being accessible, our office must be notified prior to loading, so that alternative arrangements can be made. Additional fees may apply.


    5.6

    5.7
    Caravans/trailers towed on-wheels shall be in a 100% roadworthy and serviceable condition: trailers shall be licensed, wheel bearings and brakes serviced and tyre < 5 years old.


    5.8
    As vehicles are transported on open carriers, they are subjected to weather conditions as experienced on-route. IAM will not be liable for cleaning costs of vehicles that got dirty whilst in transit.


    5.9
    We do not provide or pay for the use of rental vehicles whilst a customer’s vehicle is under repair, or in the event of total loss.
    5.10

    6.    cancellation
    6.1
    Cancellations must be done in writing by the signatory of this Booking form. Cancellation fees:
    ·         Less than 12 hours prior to collection of vehicle – 75% of total price quoted will be forfeited for cancellation, or 20% for postponement.
    ·         12 to 24 hours prior to collection of vehicle – 50% of total price quoted will be forfeited for cancellation, or 10% for postponement.
    ·         a minimum of 10% handling fee shall be charged on any cancellation.
